‘I enjoy solving puzzles and the getting the best result for my client’
As a lawyer and certainly in my capacity as a receiver in insolvencies, no day is ever the same. This dynamic makes my work changing and variable and ensures that I head to our office with pleasure every morning.
His choice to study law was a deliberate one. ‘With a law degree, you can go in many different directions. I came into contact with Guido de Wit fairly soon after graduating and have been affiliated to his firm since its formation. For me, working with the Guido de Wit law firm means working in a close and enthusiastic team in which we all know each other well. Because all employees make their own individual contribution and share, we are jointly able to provide the high quality legal service. There is an open and pleasant working atmosphere in this office, where cooperation and sparring happen automatically. That is fairly unique in the legal world, which is usually marked by a great deal of individualism. It is group work here that leads to a much better end result. As a lawyer, you also benefit from that because you can pull each other up.’
Erik de Boer has seen the office grow in recent years. ‘We have grown in a short space of time to become a professional firm of a high standard, and that is reflected in the cases that our firm attracts. The choice to support only entrepreneurs is a good one and it also suits me. Within that spectrum, my main specialisation is insolvency law. I enjoy it every time when we have put something perfect on paper. I sometimes call it maths with words. The right tone but it still hits home, so that the message is received exactly as we intended.’
